Hey Sisterhooders, my name is Anonymous Sisterhood Tweeter, or AST for short. (I was going to go with 'Anonymous Sisterhood Social Media Manager', but realised the acronym for that was 'ASSMM', and I didn't want to be called 'ass' anything.) I'm the person you're speaking to when you email info@motorsportsisterhood.org, use a contact form on this website, or contact us via the social media accounts. And wow, do I love hearing from you all!
Unlike Brij, I'm not really comfortable with my name, face, and identity being available on the internet. However, we at the Sisterhood believe that social media accounts should have personality, so I thought I would share some things about myself.

We at the Motorsport Sisterhood are very keen to support motorsport artists of all shapes and sizes - professional artists/photographers, fan artists/photographers, and art dabblers. We have started a store, which is hosted by Zazzle because of their great product range, customer service, and royalties policy. The store pays royalties 50-50 to the contributing artists, and our scholarship/sponsorship fund (to be discussed in a future post).
In pursuit of populating our store, we would like to extend the invitation to the community to participate. As mentioned above, we will pay you for every product sold from your work. We're doing this partly to incentivise you to promote the store in your network, but mostly because we believe that it's a moral imperative to help creatives earn from their work. If you are a motorsport artist or photographer, and you have done work featuring girl racers or women in motorsport, please get in touch with us! We would love to discuss using your work in our store. The contact form is below. If you, like Brij and a few other artists, use photos to paint your pictures, we ask you to please pass a portion of your royalties on to the original artist. This is part of our belief that creatives need to earn. Also, it helps to avoid copyright lawsuits. The pic above was painted by Brij of a photo by Vladimir Rys. It won't be featured in the store, because it's of a picture taken by a man of men's handiwork - not very 'Sisterhood'-y!
Here goes the first Motorsport Sisterhood blog post...
We're a new site, and even though pretty much everyone who contributes here is a long-standing writer and internet contributor we're still working out how to set up and run our own webpage. In the fullness of time, we'll have all kinds of cool features (look out for 'register for your own account', coming soon, which will let you make a page for yourself, and feature all your shiniest motorsport street cred). For now, though, we're just testing the waters and building it up slowly. If you have suggestions, or would like to contribute, give us a shout at info@motorsportsisterhood.org or brij@motorsportsisterhood.org :) |
